Hi friends!

How are you all? I don't have too long to write today, so this will be a short one. I'm at the local coffee shop that Monte Cristo Ministries runs and we're just about to have lunch. We picked up another team from the airport today and they're from Orange County. We're all about the same age, so it's going to be great to be a part of their team and get to know them. MCM owns a camp up in the mountains, so we're heading up there today for some team building activities (point loma people...i'll tell you if we have to lead each other around blindfolded!). Then tomorrow, we are going to a game preserve!!! I will definitely have pictures from that.

Ok...high, low, thank you...
High:
  • Yesterday was beautiful!!! Marnelle and I went running, had lunch, and then I took a nap on their patio in the sun. Amazing...
  • Street outreach with local kids. We sang songs, had a Bible lesson, danced, prayed for them...I talked with two young girls who want to visit America so badly because they see it on TV and think it's this perfect place. They asked if I would remember them, and you have to see this picture I have of us...it's going in my room. I'm finding that my heart is to work with these young girls, 11-20 or so. Big surprise i know :)
  • Meeting Nopinki, this inspiring young girl who has worked with MCM for a few years. She is studying theology and psychology, so we had a lot to talk about!

Low:

  • There is a huge drug and alcohol problem in the poorer communities, so it is hard to watch so many people's lives wasted on this. Sunday afternoon is a big drinking time, so we saw a lot of this yesterday at the street outreach.

Thank you:

  • All of your thoughts and prayers...I mean it and appreciate it greatly. As they say in Afrikaans, "baie dankie" (thank you very much...and you pronounce it like 'buy a donkey').

I'll write again as soon as i can....love you all....

Gpod Morning, Alair..oh..those blogs are just too wonderful..I am trying to picture you writing them..I surely can picture you and Marnelle running..when I go to bed or when I wake up..I start counting the time difference and wonder what you are doing..and then I pray..Taylor and I so thought of you last nite as we watched a great movie that you just love..it had alot of rabbits in it(were ones)..in the words of a very wise man we all know and love.."go well, Alair"..and I pray for you this day:..Father God, I come to you this day..even over this laptop to pray and ask for all you already have ready for Alair and the team there..Lord, please provide, please guard, please guide, and reveal to them all they need to do today and all they are to do for you..be with each team member and give them strength, protection, and more of who you are..your word says you are a "sure foundation" and today I pray for you to be Alair's sure foundation..you are her stablility, you are her certainty and I praise you for this. In your name, I pray she will see that you are her sure foundation..Isaiah 28:16 tells her today, " See, Alair, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation, the one who trusts will never be dismayed."..Lord, go with her today and may she see and believe that you are her sure foundation..thank you again, for the opportunity Alair has to even be there and I thank you for those you have put around her..may she give them YOU and glorify you. I pray this and I ask this in your mighty name..amen and amen..
I love you, Alair..

Hi Alair!
How are you doing? It's about noon here, so it must be nine your time and you might be getting ready for bed. Thank you so much for writing these blogs and letting us know everything you are doing. That is so cool that you met that girl who is studying theology and psychology too! I can totally picture you playing with all of the local kids there! You are very good at relating to kids like that and I'm sure they are so excited to have you there. That is so cool that you get to go to that game preserve...you have to let us all know what it is like. You sound like you are doing so good.
I went down to San Diego yesterday for that leadership meeting with Chris and Marla...they are going to pick me up around Pasadena on their way up to Sacramento for the Rock N Water trip! They'll actually be stopping for breakfast too...Craig Anderson is going again so I'm real excited. It's going to be fun!

Alair,
I am so glad to hear that you are having a good time. You are truly in a blessed place where you will learn much! Soak it all in and enjoy. Our zoo trip will seem silly to you after you go to the game reserve...you will love it! (No, not the zebra...hopefully you will not see anything like that ever again!)

Hey Alair!
You sound like you're having a good time! I really like how you set up the "high, low, thank you" thing. It really helps me to separate out what's going on with you. I know that you are touching so many people's lives and can see how you already have. I'm praying for you and that you can have a great time and dance! You are such a beautiful girl of God, so go out there and just have fun and enjoy every minute!

Hi Alair..I have not had my Alair-blog "fix" today..so here goes..I miss you alot..but wow..not a day goes by when someone does not ask how you are doing..everyone at work wants to know how you are..I should wear 2 watches..one for my time and one for yours..we are fine here..still a little hot..but ok..Taylor is out with Kenric..he misses you, too..as you read this you may still be at the camp place you told us about and just getting up..so I pray that today God will continue to strengthen you and hold you up..may He keep you near to his heart and may you know that you know He is there..I pray you are physically strong and healthy and that you are sleeping good..Psalm 91 says, " He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."..Lord, I pray this day that Alair will declare" I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust." Your word says, "He will cover you, Alair, with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Thank you, Jesus for covering Alair in oh so many ways and for your faithfulness to her and to me here at home. I look to you to shelter her and to guide her in all she is doing. Continue, Lord to command your angels concerning her and to guard her in all of her ways. May she be safe and secure with you and her team and may you give her rest when it is time to rest. I pray this and I do ask this in the mightest name I know, Jesus Christ. amen and amen.
Bye for now, Miss Alair..I love you and will talk to you soon.

Alairious. Glad you're running. It's a great way to get around and see things in South Africa. I used to run every morning in the Hekpoort valley and would eventually collect a good number of Black school kids who would join me, running in their oversized street shoes. I'm sure I looked like the Pied Piper sometimes.

As you have seen, the African people love to dance and sing. At the camps I used to lead with Black teens, they would much prefer to present musical numbers over skits. One student told me that when God was handing out music gifts to the world He gave a tablespoonful to America, a tablespoonful to Europe, and a wheelbarrelful to Africa.

Looking forward to some pictures. Which game reserve did you go to?

Happy Friday, Alair..I am now getting the hang of writing these blogs..as my day finishes..yours begins..so..may this Friday bring you God's strength and peace..It is Caitlin's 16th birthday, too..in one of my favorite books, today..the 14th,Jesus is "The Amen" from Rev.3:14..it says Jesus is our eternal "It is Done"..the literal translation of this is "Let this come into being; let it exist". In other words, when we declare "amen" in prayer, we invoke God's creative power. To live today, Alair, in Jesus' name, then, is to declare over the day, "God, bring these things into being." It goes on to say that as our Amen, Christ is the final authority on any situation or circumstance we may encounter. So I pray this for you, sweet Alair.. Lord, I come with high praises to you because You have given Alair your Word and Your word is true. May she stand upon your Word and may she live within the person of Jesus, the Amen..In Jesus' name, we say Amen to your promises..that all things work together for good; that you will supply all of Alair's needs, you are the Lord who heals..and because you have spoken your Word and because you settled it in heaven and because You have given it to Alair, we say Amen..to all you have purposed this day for Alair and her entire team..be with them, Amen, and guide them and guard them and bring them your rest at the end of their day. I thank you for all you are doing and all that Alair has seen and done and I thank you for all she is to our family. Forgive me, Lord..if my blogs are too long..I just want to pray you and your Word over Alair..I pray this in Jesus' name..amen and amen..
Bye for now, Alair..I miss you and love you, too..

Good morning, on Sunday, Sissy..we are missing you and praying for you..we went to church last nite..and got to hear Chris Caine..yup..she was great and spoke God's word to us about our destiny and purpose..and Taylor and I were thinking of you..Lord, we lift up Alair to you this day and ask for rest and a Sabbath day for her and the team...I pray for their health and that they are able to rest and enjoy one another. Thank you, Lord, for the priviledge of watching Alair live her purpose there for you and may she know how much we love her and miss her smiling face and her incredible laugh..that laugh you gave her and that all her friends at Westmont used to tell her about..May you give her more strength, more grace and more power to bring hope and healing to all she ministers to. Your word says, Lord in Lamentations 2:19, "Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children"..and I do that for Alair..pour into her all that You, Lord , know that she is need of..thank you, Lord for the gift of Alair..I ask this and declare your word and your purpose into her this day. amen and amen..

Love you lots..Mom and Taylor

Hi Alair!
How are you doing? It's Taylor...your brother, not the girl from Coastline! I miss you a lot! I know that you are doing great there and Mom and I are continuing to pray for you. I won't be able to leave any more comments after today since I'm leaving for the Rock N Water trip tomorrow! (Oh, by the way, the one comment that doesn't have any signature or ending to it...the one that talks about Craig Anderson...if you couldn't tell, that's mine...I accidently posted it before I was done!)I am very excited to go...and a little nervous too. But Chris and everyone are going to pick me up on the way up...and have breakfast here! Mom bought a bunch of cereal and eggs and Chris said that he'd cook them, so everyone is going to eat at our house before we get back on the road! And Mom got me a journal like yours for my trip and put in devotionals for each day! She's so great...I will be thinking of you on the trip, with the hodangs and the animatronic ducks and fish counters and everything. But I know that you are having an exciting trip of your own! I can't wait to hear all about it...I'll be there with Mom to pick you up on Saturday. I pray that you are having a wonderful time and that God would continue to reveal new things to you everyday. I love you and will keep on praying for you!
